What’s Good for the Community is Good for the Company

Montebello Kitchens partnering with WorkSource Enterprises.

PRLog (Press Release)Apr 28, 2008 – GORDONSVILLE, Va. - Montebello Kitchens, a Virginia's Finest company producing artisan Virginia foods, is partnering with WorkSource Enterprises, a not-for-profit organization that provides job training and employment to persons with disabilities.

"This is a win-win situation for us and WorkSource," Montebello Kitchens owner Steven Lynch said. "We believe in shared obligations - to customers, to vendors, to employees and to our community. As a family business, we believe that integrity, hard work, and good will payoff in satisfied customers."

According to Lynch, WorkSource clients will assemble the company's gourmet soup mixtures which celebrate the richness of Virginia's agricultural heritage.

Founded in 1967, WorkSource Enterprises is a 501 (c)(3) organization which provides employment opportunities to people with disabilities that lead to economic self-sufficiency, independence and full inclusion into the community.  WorkSource serves approximately 450 citizens of Charlottesville and Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties.  

Last year, more than 300 WorkSource clients were hired by more than 85 regional companies. On-site employment consists of a large production facility where clients work on assembly, packaging and heat-sealing jobs for regional companies. Clients enrolled in the work adjustment training program learn good work habits such as team work, staying on task, punctuality and regular attendance. Jobs are priced competitively, well done and delivered on-time, according to WorkSource President Chuck McElroy.
