Who Needs Hostels? Use your Skills to Cut your Travel Costs with Conversation Corps

GeoVisions launches Conversation Corps - a unique travel programme which arranges for travellers to exchange language lessons for accommodation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Apr 28, 2008 – Travellers on a budget looking for that full cultural immersion experience could swap their language skills for lodgings with the launch of a new travel programme from GeoVisions offering accommodation in exchange for English language lessons.

Fully experiencing a country's culture from the inside is the ultimate globetrotting goal but getting out of the tourist traps can be a challenge. GeoVisions' Conversation Corps programme offers travellers a unique opportunity to live in and fully experience a foreign country for a fraction of the normal cost by living with a local host family and helping them improve their English in return for bed and board.

In exchange for spending 15 hours a week Monday to Friday teaching the family basic English, participants will gain from living in the heart of the community, picking up top travel tips and guidance from their hosts and plenty of free time to explore the surrounding areas.

With placements available all year round ranging from one to three months and destinations currently including Brazil, France, Jordan, Peru, Turkey and Spain to choose from, Conversation Corps offers a unique way to explore the world as an insider instead of a tourist.

Typical teaching tasks range from basic conversation through to educational games and activities. Before travelling, GeoVisions provides participants with full training including lesson plans and suggested activities to help you hit the ground running.

Fees start from £380 for a one month placement in Brazil. All GeoVisions' programmes include accommodation and most include meals, airport pick-up, project training, in-country support, medical and accident insurance, pre-departure information and onsite project orientation. Flights are not included. All participants must be native English speakers and educated to a secondary school level.

For more information about teaching exchange programmes through Conversation Corps, visit conversationcorps.com 0800 043 4822.
