April 29, 2008 - PRLog -- OTTAWA, Ontario, – Rosewood Hotels & Resorts achieves true world-class status by combining the traditions, culture, and history of its host communities, in keeping with its A Sense of Place™philosophy, with exceptional service, luxurious settings, and incredible attention to detail. As Rosewood continues to grow and add new hotels and resorts to its collection, it became apparent to Bob Boulogne, Rosewood’s chief operating officer that Rosewood needed a communications solution that would not only fulfill its operational needs but that would fit the company’s image and enhance the guest experience. Rosewood found this in a unified communications solution from Mitel® (http://www.mitel.com) and its authorizedPARTNER, DCI.

“When we began designing our new properties, we knew we needed to invest in a solution that would enable us to evolve our guest experience without having to change our technology every few years,” said Boulogne. “Rosewood required a solution that would bring our luxury properties to the next level of customer service while increasing our staff productivity and reduce costs with the promise of implementing applications cost effectively for years to come. We chose Mitel because it delivers on this capability and with the support from DCI the implementation has been seamless.”

Rosewood chose to implement a pure IP Mitel hospitality solution for multiple properties in the U.S. and Mexico.

The luxury of a tropical isle
The first property to deploy Mitel, Rosewood Mayakobá, is surrounded by the emerald embrace of the jungle and is the heart of a 1,600-acre luxury resort enclave in Riviera Maya.

A Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) will provide communications to both administrative and guestroom operations. Each of the 128 suites is equipped with a Mitel 5340 IP Phone, Mitel 5201 IP Phone, and a TeleMatrix 3000 IP. For administrative purposes, the resort also equips its staff with Polycom’s SpectraLink wireless phones. An extension of the 3300 ICP, these wireless handsets provide mobility throughout the property to ensure staff can be reached no matter where they are on the property resulting in faster decision-making and an increase in responsiveness to guests.

Five stars in the world’s great cities
Designed by American architect Robert A.M. Stern, The Mansion on Peachtree, A Rosewood Hotel & Residence, will combine an intimate 127-room ultra-luxury hotel with 45 residences. The 42-story property is located in Atlanta’s most affluent neighborhood of Buckhead.

Opening in May 2008, the hotel has also selected the Mitel 3300 ICP, IP phones for both administrative and guestrooms, and features three phones in each suite; the Mitel 5302 IP Phone, 5340 IP Phone and the TeleMatrix 3000 IP.

Additionally, all 5340 IP Phones will be equipped with cordless handsets to allow guests to talk while moving around their room so they are not constrained to the desk or bedside phone. These handsets provide the user with the same features as corded handset in addition to providing superior acoustic quality.

Guests will also have mobility throughout the property via SpectraLink wireless handsets. Mitel enables a SpectraLink phone to be twinned to the suites’ IP phones so calls ring on all devices ensuring important calls are never missed.

In the future, Rosewood properties have the option to create graphical phone applications on the 5340 IP Phone's display to bolster the guest experience as well as create revenue-generating opportunities. Using the Mitel HTML Toolkit, properties can leave guests welcome messages and help guests schedule hotel services, room service and or spa appointments at a touch of a button. Additional opportunities exist to partner with local attractions such as golf, shopping, and museums at the touch of a button.

“Rosewood properties are amongst the upper echelon of destinations for sophisticated travelers around the globe,” said David Johnson, vice president, Mitel hospitality sales. “By selecting a pure IP Mitel hospitality solution, the company is demonstrating a forward-looking business strategy that reinforces its commitment to the guest experience and increases its competitive advantage in the market.”

DCI, a member of Mitel’s hospitality specialist program worked with Rosewood to design and implement its new solutions.

“The Mitel relationship through the hospitality specialist program has given us the extended resources to assist properties like Rosewood to improve operational efficiencies and enhance guest services,” said Bob Murphy, Vice President National Sales, DCI. “We look forward to helping Rosewood build its network of luxury hotels and resorts using Mitel Hospitality Solutions.”

Mitel’s complete line of innovative applications, feature-rich IP phones, and scalable platforms lower operating costs, drive revenues, enhance the guest experience and make it easy for hotel staff to provide outstanding customer service. Mitel’s tailored applications allow hotels to personalize services and features based on guest profiles and preferences (http://www.mitel.com/DocController?documentId=9183). Displays on the guest's phone can customize the guest experience, ranging from a welcome message, to an appointment at the spa, to informing the guest of their long distance charges before making a call. Mitel Mobility Solutions and IP consoles enable hotel staff or guests to be reached no matter where they are on the property, ensuring guests’ questions are answered quickly and efficiently. Mitel’s migration strategy enables hoteliers to implement IP solutions at their own pace.
