Wade Day Seeks Redemption at Concord Motorsport Park

USAR Pro Cup Series heads to North Carolina

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 23, 2008 -
During his 2007 Hooters Pro Cup rookie season, Wade Day and the Highlands Motorsports team had high expectations entering the race at Concord Motorsport Park.  After all, Day had finished second in the Firecracker 150 Super Late Model event there the year before.  After a disappointing qualifying run of 20th, Day surged to the front of the pack to lead 38 laps. “We didn’t qualify well there last year, but the car was great during the race,” Day said.  A great day was ruined when a problem in the  pits cost the team several laps, leading to a 26th place finish. Day looks to change his Concord luck during the Racing Electronics 250 on April 26th .

“Concord is not one of my best tracks,” said Day from his Bristol, Tenn., race shop, “but we have a good set up and we will be testing there this week to get ready for Saturday.  Concord is a short track with a big track feel.  It is very fast.  The key to a good finish is to stay out of trouble.  You need a lot of give and take at a track like Concord – lots of give.”

The Raceday Blog returns with live trackside updates from Concord at 96raceday.blogspot.com.  You can post your comments and questions on the blog and we will answer them as the action takes place.

The Lopez Wealth Management Ford Fusion will be honoring the memory of Army Staff Sergeant Matt Maupin on Saturday.  SSGT Maupin, of Batavia, Ohio, was captured in Iraq on April 9, 2004.  While enduring their son’s disappearance, Maupin’s parents, Keith and Carolyn, founded the Yellow Ribbon Support Center, whose mission is to support the families of those serving in the armed forces.  SSGT Maupin’s remains were recovered in Iraq in late March.  Funeral services will be held on April 26th and 27th in Cincinnati, Ohio.  For more information on how to honor Matt’s memory, please visit the Yellow Ribbon Support Center at www.yellowribbonsupportcenter.com.
