7 Medical On-Demand PACS and EMR Catch on in California, Idaho and Montana

On-demand healthcare service provider adds eight new contracts in Q1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Apr 23, 2008MINNEAPOLIS – 7 Medical Systems™, LLC, a leader in on-demand picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical record (EMR) solutions for healthcare, today announced eight new contracts for the quarter ended March 31, 2008. In addition to new sites in Minnesota, the company introduces its on-demand PACS and EMR services into the western states of California, Idaho and Montana.

Three of the eight new customers have subscribed to the company’s 7p Patient-Relationship-on-Demand™ (PRM-on-Demand) Suite for EMR, including groups specializing in internal medicine, children’s respiratory and critical care, and ob-gyn. Four community/critical access hospitals have signed on for the 7i Imaging-on-Demand™ (PACS) Suite.

Lastly, a software manufacturer has engaged 7 Medical as its back-end, on-demand computing provider. 7 Medical hosts the software imaging tool on servers in its data center and enables the software provider to offer their service to physicians over the Web. Physicians have 24/7 access to the online software tool for planning and treating brain tumors and neurological disorders—they can log into the online tool anytime, anywhere they have Internet access.

“It’s all about how well you integrate disparate systems, and it’s particularly hard for the small and medium healthcare facilities,” said Jason Studsrud, CEO of 7 Medical Systems. “The systems should be based on open, best-of-breed technologies that enable different groups to work together efficiently, whether they’re hospitals, imaging centers, radiology groups or medical clinics. Today, it’s still too manual, and workflows are inefficient due to the political barriers, capital expenditures, high maintenance fees and traditional IT services. We need to continue deploying on-demand healthcare IT services and working closer together to deliver the best quality of care to the patient.”

ON-DEMAND MEANS FAST, EASY, RELIABLE AND AFFORDABLE
On-demand services remove barriers to entry for community hospitals, imaging centers, radiology groups and ambulatory clinics, getting them into PACS and EMR much quicker and easier, more efficiently, reliably and cost-effectively by:

Eliminating up-front and ongoing capital costs of owning and managing servers, hardware and software in-house;

Offering PACS and EMR at affordable, pay-as-you-go monthly fees such as pay per study, provider or claim—facilities pay for only what they need;

Providing a complete, enterprise-wide solution from one provider, with reliable 24/7 service and support, and that is available from any Internet connection—anytime, anywhere;

Assigning clinical project managers to manage implementation and training;

Delivering more efficient, automated workflows at the primary facility as well as between remote locations and other referring sites;

Integrating disparate PACS, RIS, EMR and other systems, such as dictation and transcription, using open standards and protocols such as DICOM, HL7, SQL and XML;

Minimizing exposure to risk with built in backup and disaster recovery systems;

Protecting from technology obsolescence with system upgrades and updates automatically included—no additional hardware or software maintenance or upgrade fees ever.

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY—PACS FREE TRIAL OFFER
7 Medical offers a 30-day risk-free trial on its 7i Imaging-on-Demand (PACS) Suite. For more information or to sign up for the trial, call 800-440-7119, option 3.
