Keith and Dominique have over 20 years' experience between them in technology assisted learning, and believe there is a need for a quality audio offering for people in organisations wanting to benefit from e-learning.
"The podcasts are designed for people in organisations who are thinking of doing, are going to be doing, or currently involved in doing e-learning. We wanted to ensure that Doing E-learning offered something to everyone involved in technology based learning." commented Keith.
Dominique added, "My experiences and conversations over the past 18 months with numerous Learning & Development professionals confirmed that there needed to be something simple and cost free that provided a rigorous yet entertaining look at all things e-learning. We hope that the Doing E-learning podcasts go some way to filling this requirement."
The first podcast of the series, 'What is e-learning?', clarifies what e-learning conjures up for different people, and concludes with a clearly thought through definition for e-learning.
Keith further commented, "It was great to get out there and talk to HR professionals during our research for the first podcast. We were impressed with the numbers who had already implemented e-learning, but it did tend to focus on traditional courseware and not on the assurgent social web 2.0 technologies. What didn't surprise us were the 1 in 3 people who had yet to consider e-learning as it was still something they felt they knew little about. "
The 30 minute podcasts will be released twice a month, providing information and guidelines that HR, Training, and Learning & Development professionals can act on today. Future suggestions for podcasts are welcomed by the Doing E-learning team.
