Apr 22, 2008 – Do The Math 247’s fundraiser with Hazard Elementary (Garden Grove, CA) was so well received that not only was it a huge success, Do The Math 247 was invited back for a second fundraiser three months later.
The school was so quick to adopt the company’s positive message of unity through understanding and acceptance that Wednesdays are now Do The Math 247 day. Every Wednesday all students and faculty exercise their equality by wearing their Do The Math shirts. On the first inaugural Wednesday Hazard Elementary implemented wearing the shirt, the students and faculty congregated in the school playground for a group photo. Do The Math 247 later made this photo into a personalized poster to honor the school. The poster can be seen on Do The Math’s website www.dothemath247.com.
Hazard Elementary has been a great advocate for Do The Math 247. Neighboring schools have noticed the participation of the student body, and as a result have requested to schedule fundraisers for the 2008-2009 school year.
The faculty of Hazard Elementary believes the concept and message behind Do The Math 247 is an easy way to explain to their students the importance of respecting themselves and everyone around them. They also liked the fact that long after the fundraiser was held, teachers were able to continue to use the poster, bookmarks and apparel as teaching materials throughout the school year.
