Apr 21, 2008 – Fran Orenstein has been announced as the first place winner of AAUW's national writing contest. Ms. Orenstein has won for her short story "A Journey Home." In addition she was also named the second place winner in the poetry division for her poem "The Mirrors on Her Wall."
Fran is also the author of several TRIAD books and short stories. She has written the tween titles: The Ghost Under Third Base and The Book of Mysteries - The Wizard of Balalac. She has also written the shorts "Destiny" from the "From the Shadows" horror anthology, as well as, "Murder in Duplicate" which will be featured in the upcoming suspense collection "Echoes" due out in July. She will also be releasing a children's poetry collection in May called "Five, Six, Pick-Up Sticks" and two new tween novels, "The Fat Girls From Outer Space" (July) and "The Goblin Murder Mystery" (Oct.).
