Fresh toy design and a respect for Mother Nature go hand-in-hand for toy manufacturer, HaPe International. This year’s harvest includes additions to the award-winning Quadrilla, Educo, Bamboo and Anamalz brands.
E-Racers: Just Fill ’er Up with Imagination
The new E-Racers are so eco-friendly, they run on imagination!
The Bamboo range launched in 2005 also adds two new games: Kombino (SRP: $14.95) and Kombolino (SRP: $27.95). Both are tactile versions of the popular Sudoku game. The 34 and 68-piece sets are offered for 2 and 4 players, respectively.
HaPe selected highly renewable bamboo for this range because it grows at an incredible rate. After the first three to four years, bamboo doubles its height every year. It’s common for some bamboo to grow to a height of 50 feet in just three years. Fascinated by this, HaPe helped to mobilize a global effort to understand how to best use Bamboo as a substitute for wood. Today, HaPe is the first and only manufacturer in the world to use bamboo in their toys.
Intelligent Play – Real Green Toy
Using birch plywood from Russia for the rails, organic rubber wood for the blocks and water-based stain, Quadrilla is a “real green” toy. In 2008, a 53-piece Try Me Set (SRP: $49.95; available later this month) allows children to flex their cognitive muscles in intelligent play and learn basic marble run building concepts. Additional sets and accessories can easily be added to this flexible, but stable system offering endless possibilities.
Educo Designs Delight the Senses
New Zealand pine is the material of choice for the Educo range. Exciting additions include the Color Flutter Butterfly (SRP: $27.95) and the Colorback Sea Turtle (SRP: $27.95) are playful additions to Educo’s magnetic marble maze range. Colorful graphics offer children a play-by-myself activity that promotes concentration, balance, and matching.
Eco-friendly and a Forever Friend, that’s Anamalz
In less than one year the quirky, pose-able Anamalz have become friends to children in 30 countries around the world. The Australian design team has developed 16 new Anamalz including a Brown Bear with a fabric ruff, Camel with long soft-pile neck, Kangaroo with enormous feet and Rhino with his great white horn.
Made from organic maple, each Anamalz is individually branded by the natural grain of the wood and the touch of a craftsman. New Anamalz (SRP $6.95) are for children three years and up. Did you know our Anamalz look after animals? With our Anamalz Saving Animals program a portion of every purchase supports wildlife organizations around the world.
HaPe brands are sold through its network of specialty retail and school supply stores and catalogs in over 40 countries. They have won numerous awards from prestigious independent toy testing groups for toy design, quality and safety.
