Thousands of individuals from all 50 states will gather together in cities across the nation and abroad for the “Nation for Change” Nationwide Rally in support of Barack Obama on Saturday April 19, 2008, just before the April 22nd primary in Pennsylvania. Over 500 Pennsylvanian’
Thousands are planning to attend the events. Yet even more impressive is that as of 4/5/08 there are already 680 organizers coordinating and planning the “Nation for Change” nationwide rally and this number is increasing exponentially by the hour. Each joined a group at www.barackobama.com in order to demonstrate their actual numbers on a third-party site. For independent verification of these numbers, please go to: http://my.barackobama.com/
In alignment with Obama’s grassroots style of organizing, these events around the nation have been organized in a bottom-up approach. Organizers are given full autonomy and authority in organizing their local events, with national organizers providing infrastructure and resources for an organized, collective effort. Some cities are holding traditional rallies and marches, some are engaging in community service projects, and many are involving artists, musicians, drummers, children, and local politicians. One city is even planning a motorcade with motorists sporting Obama posters on the backs of their cars. The one thing uniting all of these groups is their commitment to standing together as a “nation for change” on the same day, to maximize their impact.
It is in the spirit of Obama’s words and actions, a multitude of organizers, volunteers and rally-goers are committed to displaying the power of unity, which has been paramount to Obama’s campaign. “Although there have been a myriad of important individual efforts that have taken place by the people in support of the Obama campaign, it is easy to overlook the overall transformation taking place in this country until these efforts are linked and the lone instrument becomes a symphony of change.” states Tracy Landsberg of Madison, WI; N4C Founder and National Coordinator.

This event is truly historic in that a project of this magnitude, not sponsored by any campaign, business, organization or entity, but rather of the people, by the people and for the people, has never before been endeavored. We are not affiliated with any other grassroots or volunteer organization.
