PRLog (Press Release) –
Apr 17, 2008 – This event will feature some of the Japanese Chins recently rescued from puppy mills in Wheaton, Missouri and Chouteau, Oklahoma.
Luv A Chin volunteers recently went undercover to breeder auctions through out the United States. Dogs purchased were surrendered to rescue in an effort to stop the cycle of puppy mill brutality. Aged and injured dogs were purchased for as little as $2.00 because they were no longer of use to large volume breeders. Auctions took place in livestock barns, with dogs being held in chicken cages previously used for bird stock. A featured dog on Saturday will be Betty, a six month old Japanese Chin puppy who required double knee surgery and other vet care after her rescue. Over 40 dogs are currently in temporary foster care pending medical attention. Some are available for adoption immediately. Luv A Chin is also reaching out to the public for donations and foster homes to accommodate the dogs still under their care. Although they have foster homes all across the United States, it is hard to find new ones when such a large number of dogs comes in at one time. Luv A Chin can be seen on their website, www.luvachinrescue.org and also found on Petfinder.com . Application for adoption can be done online. Dogs will go to their new homes already spayed / neutered and fully vaccinated. # # # Visit Press Room Email to Author Email to a Friend Previous News Next News
