The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center to Host Annual Luncheon April 18, 2008

PRLog (Press Release)Apr 15, 2008 – The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC) will host its annual Blue Ribbon luncheon: ‘For the Love of a Child’ to benefit the confidential support and safe environment the Center provides to hundreds of San Francisco children and families affected by child abuse and neglect.  The event will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2008, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel, 757 Market Street, San Francisco.

Every year across the nation, approximately 3,000,000 child abuse and neglect cases are reported.  Two thousand children die each year as a result of child abuse and neglect.**   Last year, 487,145 cases were reported in California*--6,000 in San Francisco alone. These figures do not include the hundreds of daily cases that go unnoticed or unreported.

The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center hosts its annual Blue Ribbon luncheon: ‘For the Love of a Child’ to help raise community awareness for child abuse and neglect.  The event will feature mistress of ceremonies, ABC Television Anchor, Cheryl Jennings; honoree Emmy Award-winning News Anchor, Dennis Richmond; and keynote speaker, Governor Schwarzenegger appointee and Mrs. California 2007, Tracie Stafford.

The Blue Ribbon luncheon is open to the public and will raffle off prizes from 77 Maiden Lane, Cyrus Restaurant, Gary Danko, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Marc Jacobs, Meadowood Resort, NOPA Restaurant, Palace Hotel, Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences San Francisco, Saks Fifth Avenue, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco Symphony, Tiffany & Co., Wilkes Bashford Co. and Yves Saint Laurent. Tickets for the Blue Ribbon luncheon: ‘For the Love of a Child’ are $100-$500 per person.  Sponsorship tables begin at $2,500.  Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.sfcapc.org/news.htm.
