Advent, a company acclaimed for its high retention rate, is known to promote from within. Temple began working for the company in 2005 as a part-time warehouse employee before moving to the accounting department in 2007.
“Advent is a unique company. The people here are very open and encouraging about new ideas,” says Temple. He points to a new committee that Advent created in April to help direct the company’s environmental and social initiatives, which Temple, an avid environmentalist, currently heads up.
Prior to working at Advent, Temple was assistant manager at Climb Nashville, where he oversaw operations and managed special events.
A native of Nashville, Temple is active in charitable work. Fluent in Spanish, he has built houses and served as a translator in medical clinics in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Advent, a champion of employees’ non-profit efforts, granted Temple two-months leave and paid for part of his trip to Latin America as a sign of support for his work.
