Last Saturday night, author Askin Ozcan, who lives in the otherwise quiet suburb of Stockholm, "Handen", jumped up from his work-desk with a shooting sound, in front of the apartment building, where he lives. Bewildered by the frequent shootings around
his block in the recent months, he rushed to the window and looked outside carefully. No one could be seen. He called the police and reported the incident in the same way as he reported the two other similiar incidents in the foregoing months. Later, as he
adjusted the venetian blinds, so the inside of his apartment is not seen from outside, a second shot was heard. He, shut off all the lights in his apartment, called the police again, who recorded the incident with interest.
Shootings all happened on saturday nights. Author Askin Ozcan and his neighbors too are scared of the shootings which started to happen so often in the recent times.
Askin Ozcan couldn't work any more on that night. He is the author of five titles, published in English, in the U.S.A. which captured the attention of the readers globally, (WISDOM IN SMILE, STOCKHOLM STORIES, THE SECOND VENICE, SMALL MIRACLES, LIGHTNING AND A BOUQUET OF ROSES) and says the recent shootings around his block make his work difficult.
