Widely recognized as the Father of Reconfigurable Computing, Steve Casselman will be on the FCCM Sunday evening keynote opening panel discussing “Novel Architectures and Systems”.
On Monday, at the same conference, he will be chairing the “Reconfiguration”
Steve has been a key driver in reconfigurable computing for over 20 years and has 5 issued patents and 3 pending in his name. With coprocessor technology now part of the mainstream of computing Steve’s vision has finally been realized.
His next vision is built around developing a wide community of developers who have developed tools and applications that can fully exploit the massively parallel architecture of RPUs. While the rest of the industry struggles with 4 way multicore Steve believes there is much to be gained and learned by designing for 64 or 80 way cores that can be achieved with RPUs.
Steve is using the FCCM conference as the announcement platform for his new vision.
