Gaithersburg, MD, - NSCA Technology was launched in late 1988, and will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary in 2008. NSCA’s founder, Neal Chaikin, served in the Reagan Administration responsible for export control and licensing of technology. Afterward, Neal Chaikin formed NSCA as a consulting operation, which blossomed into a brokerage and then a full scale operation for buying, refurbishing, and selling/renting new and used Test & Measurement equipment.
Unsatisfied with the quality and capability of other repair and service operations, NSCA launched Tra-Cal Laboratory in 2000, with the mission to refurbish, repair, update, and calibrate precision test instruments to full manufacturer’
As a result, Tra-Cal has experienced solid growth, serves hundreds of customers, and now represents a significant portion of NSCA’s business. Corporate VP Bill Howden commented “Many of our customers have experienced problems with cut-rate calibration providers. It is not only low-value, but leads to product recalls, revenue recognition issues, systems which cannot be sold off, and even liability risks. Tra-Cal is an ISO-17025 Accredited Lab, and we perform a very comprehensive analysis and adjustment of our customer’s equipment. It is higher cost, but far higher value, and well worth the difference.”
