The Latina beauty pageant winner, who was dethroned under suspicious circumstances, continues her quest for the truth. "I know in my heart that I am Miss California USA 2008, and also know that the truth shall and must be revealed." Although Keith Lewis, Executive Director of the State pageant, has attributed the beauty pageant fiasco to nothing more than a simple accounting error; an in depth investigation has revealed otherwise. Specifically, witnesses have come forward from within the pageant organization with revealing and insightful information suggesting that something other than "human error" occurred on that appalling day.
Miss Silva is fueled by her desire to prevent such a horrific and tragic ordeal from ever happening again at the pageant level. When asked what she hopes to gain from her pursuit, she said without hesitation, "I know that this heartache has been quite difficult for my family and me, and we are still feeling the effects of it. So, if I can bring public attention to this issue; perhaps I will be able to prevent future tears and disappointment to potential unsuspecting pageant contestants."
Throughout this entire ordeal Christina Silva has shown great strength, poise, and professionalism after relinquishing her title to Raquel Beezley, Miss Barstow USA 2008 the second runner-up, back in November 2007. Christina Silva has not let this distasteful one-time pageant experience detract and discourage her from pursuing her acting career goals. Currently she is actively engaged in various acting and modeling projects.
It is Miss Silva's sincere hope that any attention she may help to bring to highlight the dark-side of the pageant world will somehow help remedy the less-than-transparent behind the scenes issues plaguing beauty pageants.
To date, Miss Silva's legal representative, Wilfredo Trivino-Perez, from the West Los Angeles based law firm Trivino Perez & Associates, continues to advocate on Miss Silva's behalf in an effort to seek justice. Miss Silva still remains hopeful that a resolution may be had without the need of judicial intervention.
