Oprah on Wednesday April 9th, 2008 had a Catholic lay minister named Margit on her show and discussed Christ consciousness. Oprah said, "I'm a Christian too!"

Making mention of her discovery of the power within and Christ consciousness, Oprah said: "...that consciousness abides with all of us."

Consciousness defined is acute awareness and internal knowledge. The atheist certainly does not have a "Christ consciousness" otherwise he would not be an atheist.

King Saul was tormented by an evil spirit and did not enjoy Christ consciousness (1Samuel 16:14). The scribes and Pharisees being content with their religion did not enjoy Christ consciousness (John 5:39; Matthew 23:13). Others clothed in their own self-righteousness lack Christ consciousness (Romans 10:3).

So, no, Christ consciousness does not abide with us all. Christ and spiritual consciousness however is available to all and whosoever will as we draw near to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (see Hebrews 12:2). Whosoever comes to Christ, He will by no means cast out, but freely and lovingly accept with arms open wide.

When Margrit the Catholic spoke of finding a "deeper inner connection" with Christ and identifying with what it is to be "fully human", Oprah somewhat arrogantly interjected a condescending "Hello!" laughing insensitively thereafter. "I got that a long time ago," Oprah said.

We should not "compare ourselves by ourselves" which is not wise but rather divisive (see 2 Corinthians 10:12).

Everyone is on their own spiritual journey, making spiritual discoveries, and seeking inwardly for their Creator.

Once you come to Christ and embrace His newness of life by the power of the resurrection, Christ consciousness by the Presence of the Holy Spirit is yours. The Holy Spirit comes to live and abide within you, to reveal the risen Christ to you, and empower you to live victoriously on earth among humanity.
