Los Angeles, CA (April 8, 2008) – LA-based band The Lieutenants (http://www.myspace.com/
The Lieutenants have developed a strong following in Los Angeles by a strong work ethic and constant gigging at venues like Spaceland and The Knitting Factory. They’ve also gained support from LA Times columnist Kevin Bronson and local DJs like Mark Shovel who features The Lieutenants on his show Check…One…
"This is not an act of treason" shouts The Lieutenants frontman Adrian Symcox on his song “Burning the Backwoods”. While there is no shortage of bands claiming The Clash, The Jam, or Elvis Costello as influences, The Lieutenants do not betray the legacy of Strummer, Weller, or Costello. Having grown up between London and Los Angeles, Symcox delivers charged, intelligent anthems with an uncommon blend of sincerity and swagger. With the powerhouse rhythm section of drummer Jeff Meeker, bassist Tommy Branch (previously from Flash Express), and extraordinary lead guitarist Adam Arcos, the Lieutenants have built a solid following in and out of Los Angeles, via Myspace and radio play on L.A.'s Indie 103.1
“We are very excited about our residency at Silverlake Lounge and invite our fans and friends to come and celebrate this event with us. We truly appreciate their relentless support. We dedicate these shows to them”. Said Symcox, considered by music critics an important force in the post punk genre.
Silverlake Lounge is located at: 2906 West Sunset Boulevard in Silverlake.
