Misinformation Published by Cult Watchdog Groups

WHAT: Rev. Brown will present a research paper titled "UDHR 30: Cult Watchdog Organizations and Jehovah's Witnesses.”

WHERE: London School of Economic, Old Theatre in the Old Building, room D502

WHEN: April 17, 2008 at 12:00 noon

WHY: Most cult watchdog groups distribute information about Jehovah's Witnesses that is inaccurate.  Activists like Randall Watters claim that such groups are 'hospitals' for those wounded by the Jehovah's Witnesses.  There are some legitimate social issues within the Jehovah's Witnesses, but distributing inaccurate information about the religion does not make these cult watchdog groups 'hospitals,' but syndicates, publishing libelous information
