Fundraising Takes to the High Seas: “Cruise for a Cure" Offers Relaxation and Exercise for Charity

PRLog (Press Release) – Apr 08, 2008 – Following a highly successful introduction into the world of charity-oriented cruises, Morris Murdock Travel, LLC, (http://www.morrismurdock.com) is proud to announce their yearlong campaign titled “Cruise for a Cure” that is geared toward raising funds for breast cancer research.

“We are so proud of our involvement with the ‘Cruise for a Cure’, said Becky Potts, President of Morris Murdock Travel. “There are so many women in the world today who suffer from, or who have suffered from, the tremendous burdens associated with breast cancer. I have seen women who have suffered from breast cancer and know others who have family members who have dealt with breast cancer. And while we have made incredible discoveries in the medical fields regarding treatment, we still have a fight ahead of us so that one-day no women will have to fear breast cancer. This is how we at Morris Murdock Travel are doing our part in the battle against cancer.”

Held in conjunction with Carnival Cruise Lines’ (www.carnival.com) “On Deck for the Cure” breast cancer fundraising initiative, Morris Murdock Travel invites all clients who participate in a 7-night or longer cruise to donate $10 towards the Susan G. Komen for the Cure movement. Carnival’s “On Deck for the Cure” movement has a goal of generating $1 million toward breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.

Four- and five-day voyages aboard the Carnival Elation from San Diego are included as well.

Carnival’s program will encompass 14 ships and participants are encouraged to take part in a one-kilometer walk around the ships’ jogging tracks while wearing custom designed T-shirts and wristbands included with their donations.
