Apr 07, 2008 – Sarasota, FL- Dr. Deborah R Maahs, D.O.M., M.S.O.M., has teamed up with Yoga From the Heart to provide complimentary care. While there has long been massage and energy practitioners at the yoga studio, this is the first time there has been an acupuncture physician. Deborah’s goals are to provide the community with an integrated approach to wellness; one that encompasses the use of yoga, bodywork and traditional Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine to achieve optimal health and balance.
Deborah believes that health is not just the mere absence of disease, but a mind-body state of total harmony and wellness. By utilizing the practice of yoga and the gentle and wise techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine along with body work and good diet, Deborah believes optimal health can be achieved.
Deborah completed her training at Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, NM in 2002 and has also received advanced acupuncture and clinical training in Beijing, China as well as being a Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System practitioner. Deborah’s specialties include women’s health, alleviation of chronic pain, digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, cosmetic acupuncture and preventative medicine. About Deborah Maahs: Deborah receiver her Master of Science Degree from Southwest Acupuncture College in 2002.
