Dubai- After the long wait, the Guinness World Record for longest wooden chopsticks finally went to the Marco Polo Hotel in Dubai.

The Guinness Book of World Records recently sent Marco Polo Hotel a certificate cofirming the hotel's entry as the new longest wooden chopsticks in the world. At 22.5 feet long, Marco Polo Hotel's pair of chopsticks beat the record of the former record holder from China's Shenyang Province.

The measuring of Marco Polo Hotel's pair of chopsticks took place at the Dubai Creek Park on February 21, when the Guinness team also inspected other record
breaking attempts.

“It was really a tremendous feeling having this certificate and being in the book of world records, especially from Guinness, for the first time. I can say that all of our team’s effort had paid off well. The management would like to congratulate all the people behind this success and who helped us made it to the book,” said Sunil Marya, Vice President of Marco Polo Hotel.

Marco Polo Hotel took a week to prepare their record breaking pair of chopsticks. Ravi Dhar, chief engineer of Marco Polo Hotel, said staff members made sure that the pair of chopsticks measured up to everyone's expectations.

"We actually made two pairs to make sure that we will deliver the best and we are so pleased with the result, especially when we have been featured online
internationally for the beating the Shenyang record,” Dhar said.
