Nominations Being Sought for H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards

Communities In Schools of North Carolina to Present the Awards at NC Education Ball

PRLog (Press Release)Apr 04, 2008 – Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC) is taking nominations for the annual H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards, honoring community leaders who have made an impact on educational efforts across the state. The awards, sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, will be presented at the 6th Annual NC Education Ball on June 7, 2008 at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh.

The H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards were created to honor individual volunteers, organizations, or corporations who have demonstrated considerable contributions of time and/or resources to educational efforts in North Carolina. The awards honor long-time CIS supporter, community volunteer, and business leader, H. Glenn Williams.

Citizens across North Carolina may nominate a volunteer, organization or corporation for the awards. Nomination forms are available online at www.ncedball.org or by contacting Kristin Hicks, khicks2@nc.rr.com or (919) 846-3589.  The deadline for this year’s award nominations is May 2, 2008.

About the H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards
The H. Glenn Williams Power of One Award winners will affirm the difference Glenn Williams made in the lives of the children in NC. Individual volunteers, organizations and corporations may be nominated.  Nominees are not required to have been involved with CIS, but should have demonstrated contributions of time and/or resources to educational efforts in North Carolina.  Recipients will be honored at the NC Education Ball and receive media recognition and a unique memento of this special honor.  In addition, a $1,000 contribution will be made in their name to the charity of their choice.
