April 2, 2008 - PRLog -- Plainfield Freedom Soccer club  (http://www.plainfieldfreedomsoccerclub.com) betters community by donating time, lawn supplies, and equipment to Kensington Park in Plainfield, Illinois.    Kensington Park is located behind the Target at the corner of Route 59 and 127th street.  Working closely with the Plainfield Park District, the area was re-laid out to include three fields that will accommodate all age levels of competitive soccer.  The club donated two new sets of goals and nets of appropriate sizes for younger player age groups.

The Plainfield Park District installed the goals, and made sure that they were in the proper locations, and modified the goals to add safety spikes.  They also arranged for trash receptacles and portable restrooms on the property.

In late March, the club held a field day, in which they rolled the fields to remove bumps, aerated, over seeded with over 300 lbs of seed and fertilized.  Problem areas were filled in with fresh soil and seed.  All the supplies and labor were donated by club members.

All the fields were lined, and the club will maintain the markings on the fields throughout the season.

The park district has given a permit to the newest travel soccer club in the area "Plainfield Freedom Soccer Club" to use the fields this spring.  The club is excited about helping the community by improving the property, and having a home field location to provide top level soccer entertainment for all its players and fans.

Target Corporation has been kind enough to donate overflow parking to the club.

Come see the new fields for yourselves.  You may see the Plainfield Freedom Soccer Club playing games or practicing.

The Plainfield Freedom Soccer Club holds tryouts in early June.  Check the web site for more information on how to join the fastest growing club in Plainfield.

The Plainfield Freedom Soccer Club is a community based organization designed with the unique ideals and principles centered around the concepts of our club name, "Freedom". Freedom gives coaches and trainers of individual teams the ability to make choices that we believe will enhance our program and, in turn, create players who respect the notion of TEAM. PFSC believes in working towards the creation of "whole" players. A "whole" player will be the most desirable to have on any team as they are strong individually but strongest when coached and encouraged to share their skills with their team. Above all, club staff will work to create an energetic soccer environment with communication, respect, & commitment to parents, players and trainers at the core of its creation. With heart and dedication, the PFSC will continue to move forward, one goal at a time.
