NEW ORLEANS – Ron Widup, executive vice president of Shermco Industries, moderated the Frequency of Maintenance Tests Symposium at PowerTest 2008 in New Orleans, March 17.
For those responsible for an electrical power system or components, knowing what maintenance steps should be taken and how often presents a difficult problem which is hard to quantify. To address the complex subject, Widup led a panel of experts which included Michael Kern, Bob Schuerger, and Tim Crnko at the event hosted by the InterNational Electrical Testing Association.
“We broke the issue down into easy to understand elements. Sometimes trying to read up on the subject just creates more questions,” said Widup. “For those who missed the symposium, Shermco has courses that cover these concepts which you can find more details on at shermco.com.”
Widup is a past president of the International Electrical Testing Association, and currently holds a position on the NETA board of directors and Standards Review Council. He is a principal member of the National Fire Protection Association’
