April 1, 2008 - PRLog -- Aftershock (http://www.aftershock.ws), a Triangle-area 80’s rock cover band has launched a new group on the popular social networking website Meetup.com.  The group, titled “The Triangle 80's Music Meetup” is geared toward 80’s music fans who would like to meet other like-minded people.  The group meetup site is at http://80smusic.meetup.com/59/

Jeremy “JD” Davis, drummer and spokesperson for the band, comments, “Online social networking is becoming one of the most effective ways to meet new people with common interests.  It cannot replace the human interaction necessary for solid relationship-building, but sites like Meetup.com do a great job of combining the two networking mediums.”

Aftershock plans to utilize the site both for promoting their own gatherings where they are performing as well as organizing social gatherings at other events such as concerts and parties.
