The "Always Locked but Never Locked Out" feature allows businesses and corporations to provide a first line of defense against lost and stolen devices which contain sensitive information by securing the areas where they are stored or left unattended.

The Survey goes on to say, "2006 saw a continuous stream of publicity focused on data breaches caused by laptop theft. Perhaps no single event galvanized the risks of having confidential data on a mobile device as the theft of a Department of Veterans Affairs employee laptop containing sensitive personal information on 26.5 million veterans. That single event spawned a flood of follow-on reports highlighting laptop incidents as well as investigations, studies and data revealing alarming trends.
81 percent of companies surveyed reported the loss of one or more laptop computers containing sensitive information during the previous 12 months.
The FBI reported that 97 percent of stolen computers are never recovered.
Of the total data breaches in 2006, the majority (36%) were due to the loss of a laptop
or computer. Although laptops are a clear threat to data security, some sources believe they are only the tip of the iceberg. According to the Ponemon Institute, PDAs and laptops ranked highest among storage devices posing the greatest risk for sensitive corporate data, followed by USB memory sticks, desktop systems, and shared file servers."
In total, the survey says that nearly 60% of data breaches are the result of these lost or stolen data endpoints.
