Chicago's own Christian Fiction author, Valerie A. Howard, has released her debut novel, Sassy.
Cecilia Richards is single, saved and sassy as her nickname implies. She is also an unapologetic know-it-all. Sassy has no problem pointing out the imperfections in others’ lives, including her best friend, Amber, who is involved in an illicit relationship with a married man, and her neighbor, Jayna, who has a deep, dark secret from her past.

Valerie A. Howard holds a B.A. in Psychology and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a faithful member of the historic West Point M. B. Church where she serves as Managing Editor and a featured writer of the church magazine, “The Point.”
Valerie believes she is being used by God to affect change in the lives of women. Through her writing, she tries to address women’s issues and to provide godly solutions and principles to promote psychological and spiritual well being.

Valerie lives in Chicago with her husband, Rev. Brian K. Howard. They have five children.
