ARLINGTON, VA- IDS Philippines, an integrated-distribution and logistics services provider and a member of the Li and Fung Group has been building better routes for 18 months with TruckStops Routing and Scheduling Software.
According to Roland Bernardez, Senior Manager - Operations, "TruckStops is being used in routing and scheduling of orders for a number of our major customers. This is currently being done at the Central TMS Dept. We are now in the process of rolling out TruckStops to our other DC's."
Mr. Bernardez said they currently use TruckStops daily with combination of fixed and dynamic routings running 60-80 routes daily and these routes cover the Northern Island of the Philippines which is Luzon.
"We chose TruckStops because it's very simple, easy to use. It helps us plan our schedule efficiently and effectively and most importantly, it helps us a lot in terms of bringing down our in-land transport cost per case. Within our major DC, we realized 4.9% savings in transport cost/ case for the year 2007," Mr. Bernardez added.
