Sources say that Pollia Ventures’ rumored launch of the Ethical Funds Directory is motivated by the firms desire to assist consumers and in particular their existing and potential clients in finding ethical funds which match their moral and ethical interests and concerns.
According to reports by sources close to Pollia Ventures, the directory will offer comprehensive, comparable information on ethical retail funds which are currently available.
Sources have also revealed that the Pollia Ventures directory will include detailed information on each fund’s ethical investment strategy, positive and negative screening criteria, voting and engagement policy and approach, research resources, fund manager contact details and links to further information.
Fuelling the reports of Pollia Ventures soon to be launched directory is a statement by a spokesperson for Pollia Ventures in which he apparently stated that there was an increasing interest green and ethical interests such as climate change, poverty, fair trade and human rights. The spokesperson for Pollia Ventures apparently went on to add that a number of factors continue to drive the demand for ethical investment.
As at December 2007, Pollia Ventures analysts apparently estimated that the number of green and ethical funds was fast approaching 100 compared to the few dozen funds a decade ago.
Pollia Ventures have not yet released any official statement regarding the rumored directory.
