There are millions of open cases and hundreds of thousands of children and teens abducted any given year, yet most parents and schools neglect to treat it as seriously as they should.  The statement: “ it couldn’t happen to us” or “it couldn’t happen here”, has become a way for  people to continue to mentally avoid this particular scary thing in life.  Unfortunately statistics speak for themselves.  The numbers alone make the chance of a child predator abducting someone or someone known to a particular family huge.

The Amber Alert program has been successful, but it is applied only after a child or teen has been abducted after all. However, the program has been responsible for retrieving thousands of abductees.  Its stopping the initial contact and keeping kids from going with the predators or allowing predators to learn a victims daily habits that need to be addressed, according to many police organizations.

How does one protect and educate their children?  “Knowledge is key,” said “Child Abduction: How To Protect Your Children” author Maurice Woodson.  “Over the years, I’ve spent time doing research  with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as well as spending time with several police organizations and the one thing that still rings true is that we need to educate children on what to do if they approached.  We also need to be prepared in case (god forbid) it does happen.  The faster one can get all needed information of a child or teen into the hands of the proper authorities, the faster they can do their job and the better chance of returning that abducted child or teen home alive.”

“Child Abduction: How to Protect your Children” informs parents on what they should know about child predators, and how and what to teach their children.  It also heavily covers what a child and parent should do if an abduction were to happen.  The book  gives a reader all they need to prepare an ID kit of their child or children, something every child and teen should have.
