FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
Mar 29, 2008 – Santa Clarita, CA – Southern California EMS has begun to double its efforts to reach out to churches and Christians in an effort to spread the message of disaster preparedness.
In this day and age, natural disasters are expected to occur with more frequency prompting church officials to prepare for the inevitable. In the past couple of years, we have all seen such disasters as hurricane Katrina and the powerful tsunami that hit Sumatra killing thousands of people. This comes as no surprise to church leaders as the bible clearly predicts such incidents to come yet so many people and churches around the country are reluctant to do anything to prepare themselves for a natural disaster. With so much information available on the subject of disaster preparedness, some feel overwhelmed by it all and left to wonder where they should start. Some even abandon the idea of preparing saying that they do not have the time to invest. This is a dangerous position to be in especially in the Southern California region which is prone to earthquakes. The last major quake was in January 1994 with smaller quakes rattling the area since then. Two years ago, the Southern California EMS church preparedness division was created to assist churches specifically in the area of disaster preparedness and to help guide them in creating an emergency action plan as well as implementing the plan. The company also specializes in helping churches create their own emergency medical services ministry utilizing members of their congregations and with great success. The founder of Southern California EMS, Captain Ed Castillo decided that it was time for a company to address the needs of churches all over the nation. As a devout Christian himself, he wanted to reach out to churches and Christians who needed expert guidance in disaster preparedness. He draws upon his 20 year career in the fire and EMS field to deliver real world solutions and guidance. Additionally, Ed is a church speaker that shares his experiences in the fire and EMS field and uses this to teach Christians why they should heed the warnings of the bible and prepare for the worst. Ed states, “Natural disasters are equal opportunity destroyers!” For more information or to book Captain Ed Castillo for your church: Southern California EMS www.socalems.com 818-825-3950
