James Pipkin, owner of the Arlington-based Knowledge Guides teaching service, has written and published a book for parents of students studying for the SAT and ACT college exams.
Entitled The Parent’s Guide to the SAT and ACT: Preparing Your Child for College, this book is drawn from Pipkin’s experience as an owner of a professional tutoring service and his years of teaching students how to maximize their scores on the SAT and ACT tests. The book is directed at the parents rather than exclusively at the student so that both parents and children can work together to make a college selection and develop study habits that will improve the student’s entrance exam scores.
Included in The Parent’s Guide to the SAT and ACT are updated tips and information about the recent changes to the SAT test and scoring, how to improve study habits and grades, help to overcome some common study obstacles for students, and even a guide for through the college application process. The content of the book is drawn from Pipkin’s company Knowledge Guides, a test preparation and tutoring service that has a demonstrated record of improving student’s test scores on the SAT and ACT.
James Pipkin has over 12 years of experience tutoring math, English, and science, and his company Knowledge Guides has been in business for more than a decade.
