FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 27, 2008Sierra Vista, AZ -- February 25, 2008 -- Dr. Caron‘s INTRODUCTION TO ADHD FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES was released in Tokyo at the beginning of February, 2008. This version, re-edited specifically to help Japanese children and families, includes an illustrated Japanese/English script book accompanied by a DVD which is in English with Japanese subtitles.

Dr. Caron, who is both a child psychologist and a ventriloquist, produced the American version of his DVD several years ago. Caron stated, “This new version is truly an international effort. Dr. Michiko Hara, pediatric neurologist, is the editor-in-chief and supervised the translation. She wrote in her preface, ‘I am very happy to introduce tender-hearted Dr. C and lovely Elwood….There has been no guidance for children like this DVD….Dr. C teaches many things to Elwood…. It helps the children learn about ADHD easily…. You will enjoy this book with your family, because it has parts not only for ADHD children but also for a sibling….I think this book is most suitable for people in educational, medical, nursing, and welfare fields who have to work with children with developmental disorders…. This book will be a text book for the training of care-partners with the handicapped or for nursing children with developmental disorders.‘“

Regarding the original American version, Dr. Steven Richfield wrote, "Dr. Caron's video program for ADHD children and their families has proved to be a valuable addition to my repertoire of practical, hands-on tools for the patients and parents I treat everyday. He has devised a very creative, inspiring and entertaining series that brings to light a myriad of critical issues.” Caroline Hensby, from adders.org, said, “I watched these videos with our ADHD son, Richard, who sat engrossed and couldn't stop talking about them for days after. With the use of ventriloquism, humor, song and magic, Dr. C (and of course Elwood and the rest of the puppet family) takes the whole family through the diagnosis and explanation of ADHD. The use of various techniques and strategies helps the family cope and works to improve the whole family situation. Highly recommended for use by families and professionals working with families affected by ADHD."
