Anaheim Church Presents Palestinian Bible Society Missionary Reverend Andrew Bush

First Congregational Church of Anaheim (http://www.fcca.org) welcomes Reverend Andrew Bush on Sunday, April 13th at 10:30 am for a presentation on the topic: Costly Service is Never a Waste.

Services begin at 10:30 am in the main Sanctuary at 515 North St. College in Anaheim. The event is free and open to the public and will feature a brief performance by the visiting Payson High School Choir (Payson, Utah) along with the slide presentation by Rev. Bush.

“We’re excited about welcoming the Bush family back to visit our congregation“, says Dr. Jim Schibsted, senior pastor at First Congregational Church of Anaheim, “We have been supporters of their mission efforts for the last twelve years and look forward to their view of current events in Palestine”

Rev. Andrew Bush and his wife Karen have been serving with the Palestinian Bible Society on the West Bank since 1998.  Andrew and Karen established Living Stones Student Center which serves students at Bir Zeit University and youth in the villages near Ramallah.

Rev. Bush says, “In a context of almost constant violence Living Stones has been a refuge for Palestinian university students and young people.  Living Stones provides a place where Palestinian youth can enjoy positive social and cultural activities.  We conduct retreats and youth camps in which the ethical teachings of Christ are shared.  Our goal is to provide some hope for their future by teaching skills in reconciliation and positive community building.  Living Stones is also a home for Palestinian Christian students, a place they can have bible studies and fellowship in a supportive environment.”

Andrew and Karen Bush raised their five children overseas and Rev. Bush has been an ordained minister since 1984.  He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Society.  He holds graduate degrees in theology from the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem and the Alliance Biblical Seminary in Manila.  Andrew completed his B. A. in architecture at Princeton University. They now divide their time between mentoring the team of Living Stones Student Center, and equipping the church in the United States for ministry to the Muslim community.
