This program is ideal for experienced or high potential managers and professionals who may not have received any formal education, but who wish to move up the salary bracket by seeking a stronger foundation in current business theory and practice. Because this is an open enrollment program, a high school diploma or college degree is not required.
“Nevada has lower graduation rates than many parts of the country,” said Steve Phelan, director for the UNLV Center for Entrepreneurship. “This has traditionally meant that many business owners and managers have had a hard time accessing high quality business education from places like UNLV. We are now committed to unlocking the knowledge in the ivory towers and making it available to everyone with a desire to learn more.”
The program will be taught by leading professors from the UNLV College of Business, with years of experience making business concepts and skills readily understandable and immediately useful. Topics range from leadership and negotiation styles to business law and corporate finance. Sessions are organized into four, two-day modules focused on managing people, managing processes, the business environment, and managing money. A new module is offered every month, so students can complete the program in as little as four months or spread classes over two years.
