Mar 27, 2008 – Mooresville, NC, - David Tomasello, The former Chief Executive Officer of Shark Energy Drink, comments on last week’s news that Shark Energy Drink has suspended its marketing program in NASCAR. "My management team worked very hard to build that motorsports program with Fitz Motorsports and Xpress Motorsports, and it’s very unfortunate that the new CEO and management has chosen not to continue with the program. “I heard about it just like everyone else, on the internet” said Tomasello. Both teams – Fitz Motorsports in the Nationwide Series and Xpress Motorsports in the Craftsman Truck Series – were wonderful to work with. I commend both teams for their professionalism and dedication to build the Shark brand. Drivers Kenny Wallace and Brian Scott were great representatives of the Shark brand and their personalities and drive are what make NASCAR such an effective marketing platform. I wish nothing but the best for the teams and drivers and I have the utmost confidence that Shark Energy Drink will continue its growth in the U.S. market." Tomasello resigned from Shark Energy Drink on February 18, 2008 to spend time with his family and pursue other opportunities.
