PRLog (Press Release)Mar 26, 2008 – Sundhar Sekhar who is presently a Principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP Harrisburg Pennsylvania USA chose from his hectic schedule, March 23-24, 2008 to visit his alma mater Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Rajasthan where he was a student during 1986-1990 and obtained his M.Sc. (Tech) Science & Technology Development degree. He was accompanied by Jayendra Sankar who did his B.E. (Hons) chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani during 1994-1998 and is presently an Executive at Deloitte Consulting Mumbai

Going around the Institute, Sundhar Sekhar and Jayendra were impressed by the new Library building, Lecture Theatre Complex, Students Activity Centre etc and said that BITSAT model of admissions could have been done only by a top ranking university in India today like BITS Pilani which knows the way, goes the way and shows the way

On Sunday 23 March 2008, in his lecture on the scope of Consultancy and the career opportunities at Deloitte, Sundhar pointed out that Consultancy is all about Challenge Management meeting simultaneously time cost and performance goals and emphasized that a successful Consultant must possess Information Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Decision Making Skills and Communication Skills apart from Ability for Time, Stress and Project Management. He minced no words in thanking the broad based integrated and interdisciplinary approach of education at BITS Pilani which gave him ample opportunities from admissions to graduations for developing such skills and acquiring such ability to ensure that winning in tough situations became a way of his life.

On Monday 24 March 2008, Proud to be BITSians Sundhar Sekhar and Jayendra along with Ms Simmi Sarna Analyst from Deloitte Hyderabad conducted a workshop on Innovation and Leadership for students from various disciplines across the Institute. During their visit to Pilani, the Deloitte team had extensive interactions with Prof L K Maheshwari Vice Chancellor as well as with Dr G Sundar Dean Practice School Division for strengthening the college corporate partnership and Dr R K Mittal President BITSAA (BITS Alumni Association) for maximizing the Passion Quotient (PQ) for the alma mater.

In an exclusive message to BITS Alumni Association (BITSAA), Sundhar Shekhar said that he was touched by the consistent down to earth attitude of the BITS faculty as well as their commitment in maintaining the BITS culture and that the values he cherishes today are what BITS culture had ingrained in him during his student days.

There is no doubt that BITS alumni have been playing a major role in institution building of their beloved alma mater.
