Richard Johnson of Johnson Pilton Walker was this week announced winner of Australia's top national architecture prize - the 2008 Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Gold Medal for Architecture.
Mr Johnson is responsible for the creation over the past 38 years of a large range of significant projects in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Hobart, Darwin, Auckland, Melbourne and China.

NSW - Sydney: Art Gallery of NSW New Asian Galleries; Museum of Sydney and First Government House Place; Hilton Hotel redevelopment;
ACT - Canberra: the new National Portrait Gallery; Australian War Memorial Site Development Plan; Anzac Parade Lighting (with Barry Webb and Alec Tzannes).
VICTORIA - Melbourne: Museum of Victoria (with Denton Corker Marshall).
TASMANIA - Hobart: Tasmanian Art Gallery and Museum Masterplan
QUEENSLAND - Brisbane: Queensland Newspapers Pavilion and Exhibits - Expo 88 Brisbane; Spanish Pavilion and Exhibits - Expo 88 Brisbane.
NT - Darwin: Urban Taskforce after Cyclone Tracy.
NZ - Auckland: Britomart Development Customs Charter and East Building
Mr Johnson will be speaking in: Canberra - Tuesday, 29th April; Melbourne - Monday, 12th May; Tasmania - Tuesday, 13th May; Hong Kong - Wednesday, 28th May; Adelaide - Tuesday, 2nd September; Perth - Thursday, 4th September; Brisbane - Monday, 29th September; Darwin - Wednesday 1st October.
He will also deliver a formal lecture, the AS Hook Address, in Sydney on a date to be confirmed.
