Having recently discovered monster squids and monster frogs, is it any wonder that we now have monster roof vents? These huge over-sized roof vents manufactuerd by Active Ventilation Products can measure over 5 feet in diameter, and are used to ventilate military buildings, municipal utilities, hospitals, and possibly any kind of super structure that needs roof ventilation.
Active Ventilation Products Inc (http://roofvents.com) is located in Newburgh, NY, where they have been manufacturing full lines of roof vents, roof exhaust fans and tubular skylights for many years. Their flagship product, called the "Aura Ventilator" (http://roofvent.com/
How is this accomplished?
Up until now, the Aura Ventilator has been available in sizes from 4 inches to 48 inches, but in order to meet the demands of our customers for giant vents, Active Ventilation has added sizes 54 inch, 60 inch and 72 inch in diameter. Active Ventilation can make these sizes because of the fixed louver design, which makes the Aura Ventilator extremely durable against strong stormy winds. Other vents such as the turbine can't be manufactured beyond the size of 48 inches in diameter because of its spinning, which makes the turbine vulnerable to breaking (and this vulnerability can occur even at slow wind speeds).
The Aura Ventilator can be installed on any type roof and at any pitch without the need for an adjustable base. The Aura Design was tested for the Texas Department of Insurance at wind speeds of 200 mph, and was approved by Dade County, Florida to withstand hurricanes (http://roofvents.com/
In looking toward the future, AVP cannot say that they will stop and cap the size of the Aura Ventilator at a 72 inch diameter. With the Aura Ventilator's seemingly limitless possibilities, they may opt to manufacture even larger Aura Ventilators, if they find that their customers have the need for them.
