Jarvis Green to appear on The Montel Williams Show

Jarvis Green to appear on The Montel Williams show on Wednesday, March 26!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 24, 2008 – Who:

Donalsonville, LA native, Jarvis Green, #97 for the 3-time World Champion New England Patriots

When:

March 26, 2008

Where:

Montel Williams Show (Check local listings for time and station)

What:

Green will surprise Michelle Jefferson, a 27-year-old single mother of four from New Orleans, with a check for $25,000 to assist in her recovery from the s t ill-stifling effects of Hurricane Katrina. Jefferson was one of the many New Orleans residents who underestimated the Katrina's severity and therefore thought they could "ride out" the approaching hurricane. As a result, she and her children were also among the thousands who inhabited the Super dome for what she calls "the most horrible three days of her and her children's lives." Since then, Michelle and her children have been from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, Killeen and Houston, TX and then back to New Orleans, where they now reside in low-income housing. Michelle is currently employed. However, with her family scattered around the country and her mother currently battling Breast Cancer, Michelle not only lacks a support system, but also struggles to provide support for her ailing mother. Yet, she is often praised for hew work ethic and commitment to putting her children first. Her resilience, determination and inspiring story inspired Jarvis to provide her with the assistance she needs to at least move her family out of the projects and into an area with better schools and resources.

Why:

Although New Orleans and the victims of Hurricane Katrina have all but faded from the media spotlight, many still suffer from the devastation caused by t h e disaster. Jarvis Green, through his foundation, is committed to continuing assistance to those victims, especially single mothers, and to keeping them in the hearts and minds of those who may be able to help.

About the Jarvis Green Foundation:
The mission of the Jarvis Green Foundation (http://www.jarvisgreen.com), a not for profit 501 (c)3 organization, is to provide support to single working mothers in disadvantaged low income areas.
