Thomas Watkiss & The Seventh Media release ANCESTOR Phase I : Silence
ANCESTOR, Phase I : Silence is the newest full-length soundwork by Thomas Watkiss. Phase I : Silence is a 63 minute journey of carefully constructed ambience, brooding soundscapes and imminent drones that merge experimental music and sound art in ways not heard before. The record is certain to capture the attention of the contemporary art audience and followers of the avant-garde.
Phase I : Silence follows last summer’s release of the ANCESTOR 7” ep and features all new material with an alternate version of the theme track as heard on the 7” single. The album is available as both CD and vinyl LP as well as standard digital format. The CD is limited to 1000 digipack copies and the double LP is limited to 500 hand-numbered gatefold copies. Phase I : Silence is the first of three releases under the moniker, ANCESTOR conceived and performed solely by Thomas Watkiss. All material was gathered and recorded in 2007 and mixed in early 2008.
