Hollyshorts 2008 To Open With Josh Brolin’s Acclaimed Short Film “x”

Festival Kicks Off With the Short’s Hollywood Premiere at Egyptian Theatre in Conjunction with the American Cinematheque HollyShorts Film Festival Takes Place August 7-10, 2008 with Weekend Screenings at Laemmle’s Sunset 5
 
March 23, 2008 - PRLog -- The organizers of HollyShorts announced today that the acclaimed short film “X,” written and directed by Actor/Director Josh Brolin (“No Country For Old Men,” “American Gangster,”) will have its Hollywood premiere as the official opening short film at the 4th annual HollyShorts Film Festival, which takes place August 7-10, 2008. Brolin’s “X” will premiere during the HollyShorts opening night celebration, which will be held in conjunction with the American Cinematheque at the world renowned Egyptian theatre in Hollywood on Thursday, August 7.

HollyShorts also announced today the festival’s weekend screenings (August 9-10) will take place at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 theatre in Hollywood . The announcements were made today by festival co-organizers/directors Daniel Sol and Theo Dumont .

“We are delighted to kick off this year’s HollyShorts with the Hollywood premiere of Josh Brolin’s short film “X” in conjunction with the American Cinematheque,” said Sol.

“X” Synopsis:
An inmate escapes prison to reunite with his daughter and searches for her murdered mother in order to ultimately exhume her body and give her a proper burial.

The full schedule of films for the HollyShorts opening night event will be announced late June and the complete 4th annual HollyShorts Film Festival lineup will be announced the first week of July.
