Mar 21, 2008 – These filters remove unwanted spontaneous emission from blue-violet laser sources, thereby improving detection in Raman and Florescence applications as well as enhancing photodetector calibration.
Eric Maye, Product Line Manager for Ondax VHG PowerLockers, said “We have been manufacturing wavelength stabilized lasers for over 3 years and with the recent introduction of our single longitudinal mode 405nm lasers, we realized that there were no filters available at these blue wavelengths. To provide our customers with a complete solution, we introduced these ASE suppression filters at 405nm. The filters provide our Raman and Florescence customers with a method to enhance detection systems by increasing signal to noise ratios. Our ASE filters provide >30dB suppression at 0.5nm from the laser wavelength. The bandwidth of the filter is 0.05nm with 70% transmission and can be tuned over a 10nm wavelength to precisely match the laser wavelength. We can also provide customers with ASE suppression filters at custom wavelengths.”
