PRLog (Press Release) –
Mar 20, 2008 – The state-owned utility company of South Africa, Eskom, has announced that the provision of power has improved significantly since last week.
The company announced that there is no longer a threat of having to declare force majeure with the company’s largest customers, which on the most part are diamond mining companies.
Four generators have reportedly been returned to the grid and load shedding is expected to end today.
The company reported that prolonged rains have hampered coal mining in the last few days. Coal produces about 90% of the company’s power.
