The campaign is the first time in this market that a site visitor's webcam has been utilised within an online advertising format. The ad works by activating the viewer's webcam that then feeds the video straight into the ad unit. The ad plays this video back in real-time, giving the illusion that the phone is truly like a mirror by actually reflecting the viewer's face on screen.
"This innovative online campaign for 3's LG Shine demonstrates for the first time a unique experience which involves the consumer in the ad. With ninemsn's The Fix and their extensive coverage of The Oscars, it seemed the perfect platform to deliver this interactive ad campaign," said Noel Hamill, 3's Director of Sales, Marketing and Product.
"The LG shine campaign for 3 Mobile represents the right brand message in the right environment. It is a great example of client, agency and publisher working together to deliver an innovative audience experience and a strong brand experience through the use of technology,"
The Fix is ninemsn's market-leading entertainment site with 2.7 million unique browsers in January*. Oscar's coverage on The Fix will include photo galleries, live blogs, exclusive E! content and live crosses to the red carpet.
