On March 18th, Rabbi Shmuley interviewed Paul F. Davis author of Stop Lusting & Start Living about the recent Center for Disease Control study finding stating that 1 in every 4 teenage girls in America has STDs.
Paul who believes Rabbi Shmuley has one of the best, most enriching and empowering shows in America; answered the Rabbi respectfully saying:
"I did some substitute teaching last year at a teen girls school for unwed mothers still in high-school. The vulgarity and way these young ladies talked to me as their teacher (a 38 y/o man), opened my eyes to the state of our generation. "Considering the popularity of hip-hop music, sex with whomever, whenever, and wherever on music videos, movies, etc. it should be no surprise sadly the perversity among our generation."
When Rabbi probed deeper, Davis conveyed an explicit story about how when one student inquired as to what he did as an occupation when he wasn't substitute teaching, one of the young ladies vulgarly responded, "He lays pipe."
Rabbi Shmuley was shocked and unaware that such facilities for teenage mothers even existed in our country (although he was pleased to know they did and honored such facilities for their good work). Davis who worked as a substitute teacher last year at the Beta Center just a mile or so from his house, applauds the organization and the great work they do to help teenage mothers finish high school.

Rabbi Shmuley wisely mentioned, "More sex before marriage leads to a greater likelihood of divorce." The good Rabbi, the father of eight children, has five of his own daughters. During his travels to Hawaii, Rabbi was shocked to see the way kids coming out of school were dressed, "It was as if they were going to a club."
"Saying it had to do with the warm weather isn't excusable, because children in Jamaica which is near the equator in the Carribean wear uniforms" Rabbi Shmuley remarked.
Shmuley gave further helpful insights stating: "You dilute sex by overusing it, losing the intended connection. Love becomes objective instead of subjective. Sex should not be cerebral, but should be visceral. Love should be subjective through the prism of the emotions, not the prism of the mind."
Davis feels the same way acknowledging that sex has lost much of its meaning because we so haphazardly and casually give ourselves away bodily without a relational commitment. Paul said: "America knows nothing about the concept of covenant."
