Aegis Asia launches AEGIS VacMicro-Sphere Shield paint additive which makes any paint insulate

AEGIS Micro-Sphere is a special ceramic-based micro-sphere paint additive which makes any paint insulate. Surfaces that are coated with AEGIS VacMicro Shield are reluctant to conduct heat and refract as well as dissipate heat away from the surface.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Mar 18, 2008 – With the rising fuel costs, many Building owners  are looking for environmental friendly solution to reduce their energy bill. The spheres goes a long way in reducing the carbon imprint without any side effects. The Aegis Vac Micro Spheres is an innovative solution which can help reduce energy bill plus reduce heat build up on surface.

What is AEGIS VacMicro-Sphere Shield?

AEGIS Micro-Sphere Shield is a special ceramic-based micro-sphere paint additive which makes any paint insulate.  Surfaces that are coated with AEGIS VacMicro Shield are reluctant to conduct heat and refract as well as dissipate heat away from the surface.

Energy Savings

The tightly packed film reflects and dissipates heat by minimizing the path for the transfer of heat, eliminating virtually all heat infiltration build up which can be a major source of heat transfer in buildings. These factors equate to substantial reductions in energy usage and costs.

The scientific process went one step further and improved on the ceramic VacMicro Spheres by removing all the gas inside which created a vacuum. Physics law states that nothing can move by conduction through a vacuum, since it represents an absence of matter. In effect we have a miniature thermos bottle... a microscopic hollow vacuum sphere that resists thermal conductivity.

The application of the additives can reduce the external surface temperature from 20% to 40% which can results between 3% to 7 % reduction in the internal surface temperature.

How does it work?

When mixed into paint the painted surface dries to a tightly packed layer of the hard, hollow "Micro spheres” The tightly packed film reflects and dissipates heat by minimizing the path for the transfer of heat. The ceramics are able to reflect, refract and block heat radiation (loss or gain) and dissipate heat rapidly preventing heat transfer through the coating with as much as 90% of solar infrared rays and 85% of ultra violet-rays being radiated back into the atmosphere.

The VacMicro Spheres in the insulating ceramic additive have compressive strengths up to 6,000 psi, a softening point of about 1800° C., and they are fairly chemical resistant, with low thermal conductivity of 0.1 W / m / Deg.C.

Where can AEGIS VacMicro Sphere Shield be applied?

•   Internally to prevent heat loss
•   Externally to prevent heat gain
•   Exposed flammable containers
•   Roofs
•   Heat pipes
•   Attics
•   Boats
•   Flats
•   Condominiums
•   Private Housing
•   Factories
•   Warehouses

Benefits of AEGIS VacMicro Sphere Shield

Environment Friendly:
No effect to the humans or the environment.

Durability:
Life long durability as it is highly resistant to water, dust and heat.

Maintainability:
Does not require any maintenance

Safety:
As it does not leach into the environment, there is no side effect.

Simplicity:
It can be mixed and applied by any laymen.

Energy Savings:
The application of the AEGIS VacMicro sphere reduces the surface temperature. This will directly correspond to reduction in the electricity bills.

Conclusion

AEGIS VacMicro Sphere shield technology is an extra-ordinary and “innovative” paint additive that makes “cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter” to stay in by reflecting and/or emitting heat to its original source. It has been proven by various independent testing laboratories as well as site simulation testing that AEGIS VacMicro Sphere shield can reduce the heat built-up on the external surface by 12-150C, and the heat transfer into buildings by 3-70C. The reduction of heat inside the buildings can be translated into cost saving of energy bill.
