FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 17, 2008 – Thirteen Hundred Media, of Worcester, Massachusetts, announces the release and availability of Cheryl Cory's new novel, Must’ve Done Something Good (Thirteen Hundred Media, January 2008), now available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Sylvie O’Rourke, The Sound of Music devotee and born procrastinator, finds herself making a death-avoidance bargain with God on a particularly turbulent flight home with her sisters. “If we get out of this plane alive,” she swears, “I promise to do something good with my life.” Thus is set in motion a tumultuous, flub-filled year teaching English at the broken-down St. Matthew’s High School in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Fans of both The Sound of Music and the novels of Jane Austen will find much to love in Must’ve Done Something Good. And no shoe worship. Or designer name-drops (unless you count Austen, Melville, and the Bard himself…literary designers, if you will). Truth be told, Judge Carmen, Columbo, and Mr. Ed also get their due. In other words, this isn’t your garden variety chick lit novel.

Unlike most of the current chick lit crop, Must’ve Done Something Good has wide crossover appeal. Though it’s a romantic comedy primarily aimed at adults, the fast-paced humor, along with PG-rated situations and dialogue, make the novel appropriate for quick-witted readers from their mid-teens upward.

Like Maria from The Sound of Music (and each of us, as well), Sylvie O’Rourke is simply trying to find her way to the life she was born to live, and you are invited along for the blooper-filled ride!
